What are you focusing on?
The boisterous wind, troubles and cares of life, Or the goodness of God?
I have been reflecting on the teaching on the hardened heart, and what springs to mind is the Shunamite woman. A demonstration of courage, boldness, and the right focus. Ok, so she was faced with a situation we would call hopeless, impossible, dead, but hold on, she thought otherwise; she saw victory, possibility and life, wow!!!
Faced with a dead child, she could confidently say “It is well”, emotions under control, tongue under control, no panic or anxiety. She spoke life (speak those things that are not as if they were)
This got me thinking, what made her so confident? She probably remembered the same prophet Elisha prayed for her to conceive, so surely that same power could bring that boy back to life. This applies to us now, if we can remind ourselves of how far Jesus has brought us and all that He has accomplished for us, it will be easier to trust Him and believe all He asks us to do.
A lot of the time, our focus is usually on the problem, we magnify it and lose sight of how big our God is.
In the face of the most difficult situation, we have an assurance that He will never leave us nor forsake us. We keep looking unto the author and finisher of our faith.
No matter what the situation is, there is a scripture in the Bible that has the solution.
God is continuously working behind the scenes, even if we can’t see it.
Meditate on the Word, keep believing, keep speaking life and watch the promise manifest in JESUS name!
